This is my home made cnc router that I built to make parts out of aluminum for my various hobbies. This part I’m cutting is a electric pitch propeller for my War Aircraft Replica Corsair. It is of my own design. I based the look from an original Corsair prop.
The cnc machine was built from scratch, and it is on it’s third revision. The latest one was a switch to rack and pinion drives for the X and Y drives. I am very pleased on how it works and cuts. Mach 3 runs the machine and Sharpcam generates the G code.
This machine is cutting .030″ deep per pass with .125″ step over and 60 ipm. The endmill is a .250″ diameter rougher just for aluminum.
If I try to cut any deeper you can’t stop the bit from chattering.
